I am a child
I am an African,
Born of the ameliorated soil
Of elegance and critics in human record
Like Guinness holds and display the picture,
Black is my humble nature
I am a child
I am an African
I hold the records of greatness
The vast Savannah and untamed desert,
The lush rainforest and sloppy mountains,
They vindicate my root with boldness
Teach me to mend the broken past;
not to complicate it infact, nor refine it with pretty lies
Give me a pen to correct the faulty errors,
And I'll have them as purified as the heavens purest waters
For Africa's future, I endeavor
They called me barbaric,
but am the source of civilization
And my marks are accounted for in this modern generation
Give me a book to read
Not just to sit and see you take the lead
School me
For I could be the next Madam Sirleaf
Or another Laymah Gbowee
Do not despise my color
'Cause I heard of how you abused my fathers and mothers,
Bounded them in chains,
And caged and enslaved my brothers and sisters
Called them inferior in those days,
and unanimously said it in their faces
I'm born of the soil
Rich in heritage and culture,
Faultless and flawless
I am a child of the Mother Continent
Even the sun-kissed beach is an evidence
Teach me about my past glories,
and about my heroes and heroines
Who served you justice
Teach me about Wangari Maathai of Kenya
Who told you that the little grassroots people can change the world,
In that way, I'll see the fault
And change the cause
Teach me about Nelson Mandela
Who told you that there's no passion to be found in playing small
I might be color different
But like the beauty of the morning sun, my nature is an exception
with preference
I'm a son of the soil
I'm blessed in culture
Give me a voice
And listen to the rhythm of my prosperous call
I am Nehemiah
I'm Africa's son

Proud of you Nehemiah 💪🏾💪🏾
Complete genius
